Harden Furniture

We have taken great pride in creating a piece of furniture that can someday be passed down from generation to generation. Its lasting beauty, however, depends a great deal on the care it receives. Please refer to our Finishes page if you are unsure which Harden finish information applies to your furniture.

* Low Sheen/Matte Sheen/Satin Sheen/Semi-Gloss Sheen

• Avoid placing furniture near heat outlets, open windows or in direct sunlight.

Protect fine furniture finishes from hot dishes, alcohol and excessive moisture. Remove spills immediately.

Dust when needed with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth. Clean as required with a soft, damp cloth; wipe completely dry.

* Dry-Look Finishes

Surfaces or edges exposed to heavy wear may require a periodic application of mineral oil or paste wax.

* Everyday Use

Sit only on structures designed for that purpose.

Avoid using chair stretchers or table pedestals as foot rests.

Avoid excessive scratching by lifting objects rather than dragging them across finished surfaces.

Allow the wood to breath. Dust often to remove everyday abrasive particles from wood surfaces.

Do not place hot items on a finish that will melt away or stain. Always use coasters under hot and cold beverages.

Beware of water from spills and condensation on drink glasses that can cause damage to coatings.

* Polish Information

Harden Furniture Polish is recommended for Harden Satin Sheen and Semi-Gloss Sheen finishes. It is not recommended for use on Harden Low Sheen finishes, as it will raise the sheen level and cause hang-up in distressed areas. Polish and aerosols containg silicone should never be used.
